I'm in Nebraska but I brought my miniature paintings with me. My daughter has large beautiful paintings of mine here in her house. These remind me of years of painting in Maine where she grew up.
Email me to purchase one of these little gems ... $35 + $2.50 shipping. I'll be posting more.
After receiving a commission for another painting of St. Basil's that is 20" x 20" instead of the original which is 36" x 36", I created two new paintings so the client would have a choice. Here are the two new St. Basil's paintings. The first one is for sale now. Please contact me for purchase and shipping information.
I was shocked to find the image of St. Basil's Cathedral pictured on the left below which seems to be an almost direct copy of my painting of St. Basil's, pictured on the right. I queried my friends and art "aficionados" about their opinions, some of which appear below followed by the spur of the moment response of an art historian friend. Please click on "Comments" and add your opinion and I'll try and figure out how to use the Poll Widget and set up a real poll. And I would love to hear what other artists do in these cases. I used to live in Maine where the lobstermen just burned down the house of any other lobsterman who wandered into his territory on the ocean. But I guess that doesn't cut it in California. Thanks, Sherry.

The painting on the left appeared on a woman's blog saying it was created in July 2008, 16" x 20" and sold as a commission for $450.00. I don't really want to give her more publicity. The painting on the right was made in 2007, has appeared in several places online and comes up prominently in searches. It is 36" x 36" and is for sale for $2400.

I've been painting images of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow since 1976 when I handpainted a black and white xeroxed drawing of the church and mailed it for a Christmas card. I visited St.Basil's in 1986 and agian in 1989. Last year I decided to paint this wonderful church again, and then do a series of famous buildings. My second choice was San Marco in Venice, perhaps because I found a drawing I made when I was 19 sitting in the Piazza San Marco. I don't know what the next building will be. Write for more information.

I went to the Orangerie in Paris to see the Monet water lilies. When I returned to my studio in Sausalito, California, I made the two triptychs below. Each set is 9 1/2 feet wide by 3 feet high. If you have a bare wall about 12 feet wide I hope you will contact me for more information about these pieces. I loved making them and wish they could glow on the screen like they glow on the wall! My studio in Sausalito, California
In March 2007 I started a blog while waiting for some children to come home from school in Omaha, Nebraska. Check my archives for those humorous essays. Now I'm going to try and stick to art.
I paint every day in my small studio in Sausalito California. Our building used to be a Liberty Ship building site during World War II but for thirty years the ICB Building has been home to about 90 artists. Suddenly we are getting organized and 'going public' with new events, newsletters and more. It's great for location on the Sausalito waterfront and for as much or as little art comraderie as you would like.
I hope to chronicle the progress of my paintings. Each painting sold keeps me from going to work for one more month.
NEXT EVENT: PRIVATE SHOWING JULY 24TH 4-7 PM. RSVP Sherry Miller
Above all I'm an artist. There is a photo album to the right of African paintings. In the last few months I've made some new landscapes. For more information email me at sherrymiller2020@yahoo.com
